Elkhorn Ranch in Tucson, Arizona is tied to a rich family history, the story of Grace and Ernest Miller is pretty incredible. These two trailblazers helped kick off the Dude Ranchers’ Association and found an amazing spot for a winter guest ranch in 1945 at the old Fresnal School. Their dream was to create a cozy winter getaway that would go hand-in-hand with the thriving summer operations at Elkhorn Ranch, which has been a favorite since 1922 in the gorgeous Gallatin Valley of Montana. Fast forward to now, and you’ll also find Elkhorn Ranch about 50 miles southwest of Tucson, Arizona. It’s here that the ranch welcomed its very first guests to ride through the beautiful Baboquivari Mountains back in the spring of 1946. The stunning views that wowed those early visitors still amaze guests today, making every ride a memorable adventure. Elkhorn Ranch is also a working ranch focused on conservation &.raise horses alongside neighboring cattle ranches. This friendly guest ranch is a welcoming destination for everyone—whether you’re a solo traveler looking for some adventure, a family wanting to bond, or a multi-generational group hoping to create special moments together. Your stay is kicked off with a Meet & Greet over wine & snacks, and you won't want to miss Tom Miller’s margarita night (seriously, try prickly pear!). Saturdays are all about excitement with a picnic ride, serving up grilled burgers and tasty soup for everyone.
You never go hungry here with their delicious meals, including freshly baked breads (yep, gluten-free too!). The chef caters to all diets, so you can order breakfast just how you like it, along with yummy lunches, hearty dinners, and special desserts to top it all off.
